  4. Charles Darwin was born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England, on February 12, 1809 in the family home, called "The MountMount. It was the fifth of six children born between Robert Darwin, a physician and man wealthy businessman, and Susannah Darwin (née Wedgwood surnamed). He was the grandson of Erasmus Darwin on his father's and of Josiah Wedgwood on his mother. Both families were of ancient tradition Unitarian, although Wedgwoods adopted Anglicanism. The same Robert Darwin, being a discreet freethinker, his son Charles baptized in the Anglican Church, although he and his siblings attended the Unitarian trades with his mother. At eight years old Charles already showed predilection for natural history and collecting of specimens when in 1817 he joined the day school run by the preacher of the chapel where he was attending church services. In July of that year his mother died. In September 1818 he joined with his brother Erasmus to the nearby Anglican Shrewsbury School as a boarder.
was an English naturalist who postulated that all species of life have evolved over time from common ancestors through a process called natural selection.
At just 16 years Darwin entered the University of Edinburgh, but gradually was neglecting his medical studies to pursue research of marine invertebrates. Subsequently, the University of Cambridge gave wings to his passion for the natural sciences.

    student: Gonzalo Zaid Munar Moreno.
